Weekly Ratings of Week 21
Monday, May 31st, 2010
“It’s Monday night, It’s ratings night”
Don’t you find this motto has some creative and musical genius ring to it? Well, in all modesty, as you can now testify, I could have easily become a major publicist and gotten payed decent money for using coke as a day job. As you can imagine, drugs are what kept me from the agencies in the end though: theirs wasn’t good quality enough.
The ratings that pwn the most this week are about games such as Portal, Duke Nukem 3D and EVE Online, and a couple others. And they’re especially good since they were published and voted by the Gamocracy people to get here. Just click the “Read the ratings” link below to see them in full. But before that…
…a word on the recent buttons and HUD updates to the site. They were designed by dotsMarc, dot by dot. We wanted that kind of look for Gamocracy from the beginning but we’re only starting to get there. It feels good!

Assassin’s Creed 2 Co-Writer Interview
Sunday, May 30th, 2010
This week I interviewed the co-writer of Assassin’s Creed 2, Joshua Rubin. Joining me was a fan of the game from Egypt, Karim Ayman Youssef. I had also picked a couple questions asked by other fans on Facebook.
Some of the stuff we talked about…
- how the Hollywood movie making crowd is awed that’s he’s working on video games
- the possibility of an Assassin’s Creed movie
- how the young DaVinci from the game could be an ancestor to Bond’s Q
- “it was great fun to design the beating of the ****.” (spoilers inside, be warned)

Meet Joshua
Wednesday, May 19th, 2010
The next guest in our interview series is Joshua Rubin. He’ll be online with us next Wednesday (May 26th) for one hour.
Joshua is one of the writers for Assassin’s Creed 2 and he did the “Battle of Forli” DLC that came out recently on his own. We met at GDC, chilling on a couch at the end of a day, where he started making mean puns about the “gamocracy” name. I liked him right away.
Also the fact that he has his own version of our wise gamer sitting on his blog is a good omen. These two found each other.
Oh and btw, Joshua also happens to write for movies and TV shows such as The Four, a new show from the guys that made Battlestar Galactica.
In French we’d say the guy’s “weighing”.
