The marine had a lot on his hands

Yesterday evening, a StarCraft 2 release party was held at a big store on the Champs Elysées, in Paris. I just had the time to hop off the train back from vacation and do a little exercise before I got there to meet with other StarCraft fans and old time friends.

Keeping the hundreds (thousands?) of people waiting in check was that guy:

StarCraft 2 marineHe will not be remembered for his kindness. (what did you expect from a convict whose new found freedom is only leading him to intergalactic war?) /pic by Redfield

The crowdIt’s not like he didn’t have a lot on his hands.

Enter the Command CenterAfter hours of waiting, they were let in to a scream of joy.

Happy boxesThere were so many people over there that we went next door to buy the game, where there were… not too many people. Dustin Browder was not around, maybe that’s why… The crew, from left to right: Redfield, Serhan, yours truly, Stol, bobmichels, 2fre

Happy collectorA couple others found their way to the quiet store, too.

I also randomly came across DoppleGanker, but didn’t think about taking a picture. Stoopid. I wish you’d have seen his styles.

After that, we went for a drink and finally home to install the game. Only to find out, for my part, that if I wanted to play the English version, I needed to download the 7 GB English client from Battle.net… All in all, I’m just done setting things up and haven’t even played yet.

Cya on Battle.net.

Don’t know what the sale stats are up to now, but the first day of its release it sold 1.8 million copies in Europe and the States ALONE. That’s not counting the crazy psycho fanatics in South Korea.

hehe, and it is pretty good too!
I was a bit concerned: when expectations get that high, it’s hard to meet them. well for me it’s definitely working and it seems like the people on Gamocracy feel the same… http://www.gamocracy.com/game/starcraft-ii-wings-of-liberty/
