Meet the G-player: Yokiharo
Friday, October 1st, 2010
Not even two weeks ago, Gamocracy’s first contest, the All Out Summer Contest, came to an end. We had sixteen winners in it and as many prizes.
By now, they almost all got their prizes home. The biggest of all, the one I was kind of scared to send around the world, safely reached its new base this week… I’m talking about the Google Phone Yokiharo from Portugal won by rating Super Mario World (SNES). There’s a picture below and an interview with our winner.

Hello Yokiharo, could you introduce yourself?
Hey there! I guess I’m just another dude who loves games and thinks he’s funnier than he actually is. I’m 20 and I live in Portugal. I’m currently studying Software Engineering. Besides games, I like music (yes, I’m leet at guitar besides guitar hero!), software development, movies, reading, creative writing and everything else that has a somewhat creative side to it, or just sounds cool. Oh yes, I also like popcorn.

Meet the G-player: Daisy
Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010
A few Mondays ago, Daisy won Week 11 of the All Out Summer Contest with her Sonic The Hedgehog rating: she’s into retro stuff, as far as her opinions can tell, and she makes amazing 1920 pixels wide backgrounds from games with a max resolution at 300 x 200.
Our Daisy is not Donald’s wife, she’s more amazing than that.

from Paris, France

incolas: Heya Daisy, who’s hiding behind Donald’s wife mask, can you tell us who you are?
Daisy: Just a girl, living in Paris, passionate about perfumes, cinema.. and who loved to play videogames during her childhood! But careful, my nickname doesn’t refer to Donald’s wife, but to the flower!

All Out Summer Contest – Grand Season Finale
Tuesday, September 21st, 2010
It’s been a full season, a summer of ratings, reviews, randomness and giveaways. Today is the greatest day, today is the final day!
Sometimes the scenario sucked, overall the concept was… allright, and we got nice surprises up until yesterday when Saint-Clair won with 20/80 odds.
Today, the All Out Summer Contest is coming to an end with the giveaway of my Google Phone to the author of the top opinion published on Gamocracy in the past month.
How’s the top opinion determined? At 4pm CEST (7am PDT), we’ll pick the top five opinions posted to the site in the past 31 days and enter them into a random drawing. Luck goes with the winners.
Before we take a look at who’s likely to enter the drawing, let me thank everyone that’s posted their opinion about games on Gamocracy over this summer. Thank you all for being here with us, you could have been anywhere else on the web! Thanks to you all, Gamocracy is growing and maturing every day.
At 4pm CEST (7 am PDT), the opinions that qualified for the drawing are:
what are pwnz!?
Then,
the gods of randomness almighty stepped in,
arguing like mad over who would win.
In a final shout, they decided the winner is…

This tuesday, I’m giving away my Google Phone
Saturday, September 18th, 2010
Many new people came around recently so I’ll say it again for them: I’m giving away my Nexus One Google Phone this tuesday!
The final prize in our All Out Summer Contest (full table below), I’ll give the phone away on the first day of the Fall.
I got it at GDC 2010 in San Francisco, it was the reward for “early-bird” registrants. Yes, they called me birdie but I got the phone in return. Can’t complain.
I ain’t no phone freak though and I already have an iPhone 3G so I thought I might as well give it away on Gamocracy and make someone happy there.
Here’s the phone in its box: I didn’t even take the protective film off of it.
