All Out Summer Contest – Week 12 Monday, September 13th, 2010

Just like summer, we’re getting to the end of our contest.

Week 12 is the second to last and this time the prize is “useless schwag in a GDC bag“. I brought it back from my trip at GDC in San Francisco earlier this year. In the bag, I can remember there’s a pen, a USB key and even a Steam notebook! Pen and paper notebook, not anything that requires batteries for you to lay your mind in it.

Let’s see who wins this time, but not before I tell you about the other thing I brought back from GDC, which is a brand new Nexus One Google Phone. It’s a prize for the contest too, it’s actually the final prize, the one I’ll give away on September 21st. For your chance at the phone, you only have to publish your opinion about a game on Gamocracy, collect pwnz! and pray a bit.

So, who wins this week?

At 4pm, Paris time, the 5 opinions that qualified were:

Meet the G-player: Anomaalia Tuesday, September 7th, 2010

Here we go again with our series of interviews of Gamocracy players! This time, I’ve been talking to Anomaalia, winner of Week 9 in the All Out Summer Contest.

Before we get down to his words though, let me tell you about a Facebook competition I ran over the past week. It was pretty simple to get in, you just had to ‘like’ a certain post on our Facebook page, one that talked about the Nexus One Google Phone that’s up for grabs until September 21st.

A week after the competition started, that’s today, I picked a winner at random out of the 8 people that “liked” the post. And the winner is…… Anomaalia! HIM AGAIN!!

Zowie Gear SwiftCongratz again to our man from Estonia! He’s earned himself a Zowie Gear Swift Blue mousepad, pictured here. I’ve been using one myself for the past two weeks and, even to a long-time mousepad addict, it shows surprising qualities.

Tomorrow I will announce another contest of that kind. It will happen on Twitter this time and it will be a bit more elaborate. Follow @Gamocracy and get ready for some trout slapping!

On to the big winner interview…

All Out Summer Contest – Week 11 Monday, September 6th, 2010

The prize this week? Two terrorists dots packs!

Terrorists dots packs? What’s that?! Toys inspired from Bomberman.

Before we find out who’s taking them home, let me remind you that a Nexus One Google Phone is up for grabs on Gamocracy this month. To take your chance at it, you just have to publish your opinion about one or several games on Gamoracy before September 21st. It’s all explained at www.gamocracy.com/start.

For now, let’s see who wins terrorists dots packs!

All Out Summer Contest – Week 10 Monday, August 30th, 2010

Week 10. Damn, we’re getting there. End of the summer and all.

Since late June and the launch of the contest, I’ve visited 3 countries and slept at something like ten different places. It feels like late June was last year.

It’s nice to see things moving along though. We’re now in the final month of the contest, where we’re putting a Nexus One Google Phone up for grabs. I got it for free at GDC last March. Since I’m pretty happy with my current phone, I thought it’d make for a nice prize for you guys. The drawing for this will happen on September 21st, don’t you miss it!

For now, let’s see who wins a mousepad made of glass, the prize for Week 10. At 16 Paris time, the 5 opinions that qualified for this week were:

Meet the Gpeople: RemiB Saturday, August 28th, 2010

We used to be colleagues a few years ago and now he won Week 7 of the All Out Summer Contest: let me introduce you to RemiB.

A French man who’s been into hardcore gaming for years, Rémi and I use to work in a gaming center in Paris and at the website of team GoodGame, a French gaming team that won a couple tournaments in StarCraft, Counter-Strike, Warcraft 3 and Pro Evolution Soccer.

You can see the remains of our work there at the team’s website. It didn’t get an update in three years but it’s still up and running. I was the team manager back then and, to this day, people still come and ask me if they can use the name “Goodgame – GG” for their newly formed gaming team.

Let me make this clear once and for all: I don’t know. And that’s not because I’m some kind of evil man (well it could be that, but not this time), rather because I don’t own it! The people at Pixtel own it, you should ask them.

Now that it’s all clear, it’s time to…
