The Valve/Blizzard rivalry has only started for good and it’s already being ported to consoles. Add to that pieces of games inspired creativity – you have to check that Bioshock statue carved out of wood with chainsaws – a speed run on Demon’s Souls – one of the toughest games in recent years – and a bunch of trailers and you’ll be set on what we think was not be missed in the past seven days.

Winning Glinks of the Week #7 Sunday, November 14th, 2010

Click and learn more on Glinks What made our gaming headlines this week? For the past seven days, Gamocracy players have picked the most compelling stories, videos and other gaming related links they came across out there and voted them up. Or not.

Resulting is our collective top 5 Glinks of the week: (what’s a Glink? A Gamocracy Link, if you wish.)

1. Two hundred video game characters made into Mega Man sprites
Joystiq | shared by TheHullu
And apparently he did those between calls at the call center he’s working at. Who the hell…?!

2. Call of Duty: Black Ops one-day sales hit $360M – News at GameSpot
Gamespot | shared by starhammer
Did you hear the new up and coming pop hit? “I made a billion dollars, a billion dollars is what I made, hey hey / Don’t care if you wrote a good story, there’s now way you’ll share it with me, hey hey.” Should be out soon…

3. Black Ops On PC Suffering From Mysterious “Lag” [UPDATE]
Kotaku | shared by R4VI4TOR
Can’t it just be that a couple people in millions have hardware/compatibility issues on their computer? “I’m a PC, remember?”

4. Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan (main trailer)
Youtube | shared by
Incolas
I glinked that, as you can see. I need this game. I need it when I travel to Dreamhack.

5. Black Ops – Pc vs Xbox 360 Comparison [1080p]
Youtube | shared by R4VI4TOR
I’d say the PC looks slightly better… What’s more, it has a mouse.

> Gamocracy’s Magazine page will get you the same kind of stuff *in real time*.

Thank you everyone that took part, we appreciate that you’re playing the game!

Well, right now it’s an embryo of a game but we’ve been thinking and designing what the next steps towards making it a full-fledged little game of publishing and curating could be. We might have found something we like.

At the moment, I can tell you that we will rename “pwnz!” into “energy”. “Pwnz!” has a meaning that initially escaped my French awareness, one which I very recently understood, that makes it exactly not the right word for what we’re trying to do. On the other hand, “energy” is… well it’s energy for god’s sake!

> More on pwnz! (soon to be “energy”)

Click and learn more on GlinksKinect is on top of Gamocracy’s headlines this week. Twice.

What kind of a monster have we created here?! Are we all doomed?

1. Kinect has problems recognizing dark-skinned users?
Gamespot.com | shared by yokiharo
Kinect can’t see black asses, big or small. The device sure doesn’t know what it’s missing…

2. The First Moron To Break His TV With Kinect
Kotaku.com | shared by Denzo
But how? This thing has no controller! And it doesn’t have fingers either… No fingers, no chocolate. And where’s the video?

3. Crytek UK Testing the Waters for New TimeSplitters Game
Escapistmagazine.com | shared by MrFoxer
Shame on me? I never played TimeSplitters. Never even saw the game. Click if that’s your case too, I just added a gameplay video link.

4. God of War Collection: Lost Atlantis Level Revealed
Blog.us.playstation.com | shared by
Incolas
In the video games industry, some talented and hard working people put their heart and souls into amazing stuff that… gets dumped.

5. Battlefield Play4Free – Teaser Trailer #1
Youtube | shared by Incolas
They say free games (with micro-transactions) are the future. They say Battlefield Heroes ain’t all that heroic. They say it should be doable to do better this time.

Thank you everyone that shared and pwned!

1. The Truth About IceFrog: Behind the Bullshit: The Truth
icefrogtruth | shared by
dotsMarc
Is Icefrog a bitch? Is the author a snitch? Or is this blog just another marketing scam in the battle for DotA? What I’m sure of: these words have more bitterness in them than my old delusioned grandma.

2. When an MMO dies
Kotaku | shared by
R4VI4TOR
Even though it’s not written in the most entertaining of styles, Mike Fahey had the great idea to check on those small to average MMO’s that were pushed to the side of the recently renamed “World of Warcraft” road.

3. 22 High-Caliber demakes of modern favorites
Kotaku | shared by
R4VI4TOR
Will you find them all? I couldn’t, really. But this is very good!  I liked the comment that said that’s what Final Fantasy XIII should look like. I, for one, also prefer ridiculous little pixelated characters rather than ridiculous gay-looking anti-aliased characters.

4. Biome Minecraft Reveal Video Also Prettiest Minecraft Video
Kotaku | shared by
TheHullu
Shame on me, I still haven’t played Minecraft. Biomes it seems are a set of environments from which players extract various unique elements that should help them build even crazier stuff. I’ll get it at some point, I’m sure.

5. Christian Robert lead artist on Heart of Darkness & Flashback passed away
Youtube | shared by dotsMarc
dotsMarc worked with this guy at Gameloft. And I met him just two months ago at some French developers gathering. They all drive killer cars. T_T

Thank you everyone for sharing and pwning!
