How did Unknown from the United States get to fame? Come on, don’t you remember he won Week 5 of the All Out Summer Contest? That was just this past Monday. He got there by giving Modern Warfare 2 a 6/10.

That’s two good reasons to get to know him better.

incolas: Heya Unknown, how did you find your way to Gamocracy?
Unknown: If I remember right, it was an advertisement on Xfire.

What is your favorite genre? FPS?
I would have to say FPS with RTS coming in a very close second.

Are you playing StarCraft 2? Other games?
Recently I’ve been playing Alien Swarm and the free preview of R.U.S.E.. I haven’t yet gotten Starcraft 2 and am not sure I will.

You bashed MW2 and won Week 5 of the contest thanks to that. Are people mad at Activision or what?
I think some people are mad. I am just disappointed, MW2 could have been a much better game.

What is it you’re doing when you’re not playing or writing on Gamocracy?
Talking with friends, Summer school work, learning to code (mainly in C#), and playing around in Hammer (Source’s mapping tool).

What game(s) are you looking forward to the most?
R.U.S.E.

I’m kinda proud that we have winners from all around the world. Our idea has always been to make an international site. When your home country is France, it’s not that obvious…

Before the end of the week, if all goes well, I should meet with Dodje, whose Opinion on Torchlight was the winner in Month 1, to hand her her prize. Dodje is French, Parisian even, so we’ll meet somewhere in town and take a couple pictures.

After hours of waiting, they were let in to a scream of joy.

I also randomly came across DoppleGanker, but didn’t think about taking a picture. Stoopid. I wish you’d have seen his styles.

After that, we went for a drink and finally home to install the game. Only to find out, for my part, that if I wanted to play the English version, I needed to download the 7 GB English client from Battle.net… All in all, I’m just done setting things up and haven’t even played yet.

By the way, if you’ve been following the contest closely, maybe you noticed this week was a bit sloppy… I was on vacation, which of course didn’t help making things happen in the best way, but that’s not the reason.

I mean, I had planned for everything prior to going on vacation, I had set up my phone to become a 3G modem, I had booked some days where I’d stop chilling to get contest stuff done.

Yet there’s one thing I hadn’t thought of: some places in France still don’t have high-bandwidth internet or 3G connectivity. Even making a call with a cell phone is tough from those places. Time travel does exist, after all.

After one day here, I’m  heavily sunburnt, needless to say. While I heal my salty wounds, arggghhhhhhhhhhh, you will see me a little less on the site in the next few days.

You can check what Opinions are the most popular on Gamocracy at the Magazine page but you should keep in mind that:

• the people that already won a weekly drawing can’t enter another weekly drawing (that means MaaAx’ rating of Wolfenstein 3D won’t count)
• the people that make Gamocracy and their families can’t enter the drawings (that means my Osmos rating won’t count)

And there’s a trick with the review feature we just introduced over the weekend too: when you publish a review in addition to your rating about a game, your Opinion about this game enters the magazine again as if it had gotten published for the first time.

So, if you published a rating about a game you love 6 months ago, you can enter the contest with this Opinion by upgrading it to a review. Upgrading will not hurt the pwnz! count on the said Opinion.
