Gamocracy’s All Out Summer Contest

 

The Rules

 

# Introduction
The “All Out Summer Contest” is a free contest that is open to anyone, anywhere in the world. It is operated by www.gamocracy.com. It starts on June 21st 2010 and finishes on September 20th 2010.

Each week and each month of the contest, the winning Opinion is randomly picked out of the top 5 Opinions published on Gamocracy during that period of time. The writer of each winning Opinion takes home a Gamocracy on-site token and a prize. (full tokens & prizes list to the right)

# How to enter the contest?
Anyone that publishes their Opinion about one or several PC games during the duration of the contest automatically enters. To publish your Opinion on Gamocracy, you need an account: create one.

It is forbidden for an individual to enter the contest with more than one account. Such behavior will result in immediate disqualification from all drawings.

# What is a Gamocracy Opinion?

# How are drawing entrants determined?
At the time of each of the 17 drawings of the contest, the top 5 Opinions published on Gamocracy over the given period of time (past week or month) are identified using Gamocracy’s Magazine page for Opinions, set on the appropriate “week” or “month” setting. The “week” setting scans the past 7 days, while the “month” setting scans the past 31 days.

# How are random drawings taking place?
They’re all happening online at http://www.random.org. A quote from their site: “In a similar fashion to a certified official, RANDOM.ORG acts as an unbiased third party who conducts the drawings in a manner that is guaranteed to be fair and truly random.”

Drawings are NOT 100% RANDOM though as they factor in pwnz!. That means that every Opinion that qualifies for the drawing will have its name entered in the ballot as many times as they have pwnz!. Therefore, the more pwnz! on your Opinion, the more popular it is and the more chances it has to get Most Incredible!

# About the tokens
Two special tokens were made available on Gamocracy for the contest, one for monthly winners (3 copies) and one for weekly winners (14 copies) . They’re called “Summer contest lucker”. Winners unlock them each week and each month. Learn more about Gamocracy tokens

# About the prizes
There are two prize lists: one for monthly winners (contains 3 prizes) and the other for weekly winners (contains 14 prizes). Each week and each month, one of the prizes is up for grabs. What prize exactly is at stakes is announced shortly before each drawing (we’re talking days, potentially weeks for monthly prizes).

# Sometimes, you just can’t win
One can only be a weekly winner once during the summer.
One can only be a monthly winner once during the summer.
The Gamocracy founders and their families can’t enter drawings, let alone win anything.

# Rules changes
Rules are subject to change, especially as Gamocracy keeps evolving while the contest is ongoing. In case that happens, we will warn ahead of time here on the blog.
